Exam Review

Good Morning 1st Hour!! Today we are going to start looking back at the different areas and content we have covered over the last 12 weeks. We are going to use a wiki to create a review for your exam. The instructions are on the wiki page. Remember that a wiki is a page that anyone can edit, so you are all going to be able to edit and change the wiki that I created.

Go to the following link and begin:

Audio Demo

Hello 1st hour and Happy St. Patrick’s Day!! Sorry I am not there. I was originally going to miss these 2 days for a conference, but ended up missing Wednesday and the conference due to a car accident Tuesday afternoon. I will be back on Monday, I am in pretty good shape and the baby is fine. I just need to rest and my neck is pretty sore.

Here is your assignment for today Thursday March 17, 2011. First of all make sure you have all of your podcasts completed and uploaded to your blog and have completed the Podcast Wrap-up worksheet before you begin this assignment.

Discover a new Audio site:
We have been taking about audio files and using them to create your Avatars and Podcasts. What I want you to do is teach me and the rest of the class about a new site to create one of these audio files. Be sure to check out a couple of them to see which one you want to demo.
This website CoolToolsForSchool, gives you a list of audio websites used to create some of these cool audio tools that we have been using. You MAY NOT use one we’ve already used in class. When you find a website you like, create an account a get started. This is just for you to test the tool, so there is no criteria for the recording. Embed the audio to your blog in a new post and answer the following questions:
1. What is this website and what type of audio does it create?
2. Did you think this website was easy or difficult to use? Why? Be sure to be specific about what was easy or hard about it.
3. Would you recommend that Mrs. Fowler use this site in her classes in the future? Why or why not?
Be sure to answer the questions in complete sentences, use proper grammar and spelling. Also include the URL for your website.

Avatars

An avatar is the visual (sometimes cartoonish) representation of a person in a virtual world or virtual chat room. Over the next couple of days you are going to look at some different websites that allow you to create avatars and determine which websites are easy to use. You will create 2 different avatars based on different criteria given to you. For today I want you to look at this website that gives you Reviews of Avatars and explore different ways to create them.

Online Safety Cartoons!

Look through all the cartoons created in your class. In a comment below state which cartoon you liked the best and why. I know it's been a while since we've done these, but some of you need to send or resend your embed code to me. I'm not sure if I never got it or if you sent it to the wrong address.

Remember to get full credit for the cartoon, you needed to have a message/text box on the cartoon that told us what the fact/lesson/message of the cartoon was.
